GIMP splash screens

The default GIMP splash screen is located in directory \GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\images. This is a graphic file having name gimp-splash.png

The following splash screens for GIMP were found in Internet. Unfortunately they were not so much as we would like to be. Not all of them are interesting, but some of them fairly creative.

As soon as we will find interesting ones they to be added to the collection.

Splash screen replacement

To replace splash screen you just have to override file gimp-splash.png by another one containing your favorite image.

This package gimp_splash_screens_v1.0.zip contains a set of alternative splash screens with their original templates in .xcf (GIMP) and .svg (Inkscape) formats. Also there can be found all the necessary fonts used for template editing.

There used two fonts Wide Awake and Wide Awake Black created by Jakob Fischer for splash screens "Wilber" as well as for standart splash screens (www.pizzadude.dk).

After the fonts installation you able to edit the text in downloaded templates. For example, you can change the GIMP version.

noteAttention

If you want to use a custom font in GIMP for Windows it must be intalled to the system at first.
