Changing the look of GIMP with using GIMP Look Suite
GIMP interface is based on crossplatform framework GTK+ (GIMP Toolkit.)
Interface elements (widgets) - buttons, scroll bars, line edits and etc able to have varying shapes, colors, font. The styles of interface elemets are defined in certain configuration files and can be modified via any text editor. A way of element representation realises a special engine.
Stylized interface elements within selected engine compose a theme of interface.
GIMP Look Suite
GIMP Look Suite - is a set of components designed for GIMP interface replacing in Windows. Package GIMP Look Suite consists of a number interface themes produced within varying engines. Also package includes an user-friendly program "GTK+ Theme Selector" making theme selection and installation easy.
